Shipping Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
This policy explains how Scorched Earth Records packs, sends and delivers your order. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected] before you order.
1. Processing time
We ship your order within 2 business days of receiving your cleared payment. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Orders placed on a weekend or public holiday are counted from the next business day.
Processing time is the time we take to pack and hand your parcel to the carrier. It does not include transit time.
2. Pre orders and delayed items
Some releases are sold as pre orders before they are in our hands. Pre order items ship after the release arrives with us, and release dates shown on the site are estimates only.
If your order contains a pre order item and an in stock item, we will hold the whole order and ship it together when everything is ready. If you would prefer us to send the in stock items straight away, tell us before we dispatch. The extra parcel will be charged at the normal shipping rate.
If an item in your order is delayed or turns out to be unavailable, we will contact you. You can choose to wait, receive the rest of your order, or cancel that item for a full refund.
3. Carriers
We send domestic and international orders with Australia Post or a courier. We choose the carrier and service based on the destination, the size and weight of the parcel, and its value.
4. Tracking
Every order we send is tracked. This applies to all domestic and international parcels, with no exceptions. We email your tracking number when your order is dispatched. Tracking updates for international parcels may move to the destination country’s postal service once the parcel leaves Australia.
5. Domestic delivery
Australian parcels are delivered according to the carrier’s standard process. Depending on the carrier and any instructions you give them, a parcel may be left in a safe place if no one is home. Please check your tracking and collect your parcel promptly, or arrange a safe delivery address.
6. International delivery and signature
All international orders are sent tracked and with signature required on delivery. There are no exceptions.
This means someone must be available to sign for the parcel. If no one is home, the carrier will usually leave a card and hold the parcel at a local collection point for a limited time. If the parcel is not collected in that time, it will be returned to us. In that case you are responsible for the cost of sending it to you again, or you may choose a refund of the item price less the original and return shipping costs.
Signature required parcels generally cannot be delivered to PO Boxes. Please give us a street address where someone can sign.
Tracking and signature on delivery are not offered by every country’s postal service. If we cannot send your order with both tracking and signature to your destination, we will not ship it, and we will cancel the order and refund you in full.
7. Delivery estimates
Delivery times shown at checkout or given by the carrier are estimates, not guarantees. Transit times start from the day we dispatch your parcel, not the day you order. Delays can be caused by customs clearance, weather, peak periods, strikes and other events outside our control. International delivery can take several weeks.
8. Customs, duties and taxes
International orders may be charged import duties, taxes, VAT, customs handling fees or brokerage fees by the destination country or the carrier. These charges are set by the destination country and are not included in our prices or shipping fees. The buyer is responsible for paying them.
For some destinations, including the United States, Australia Post requires duties and taxes to be paid before the parcel leaves Australia. Where this applies, we will charge the amount to you at checkout or before dispatch, and it is your responsibility.
We declare the true value and contents of every parcel on customs forms. We do not mark orders as gifts or declare a lower value, regardless of who asks.
If you refuse a parcel or do not pay charges demanded on delivery, the parcel may be returned to us or destroyed by customs. In that case you are responsible for the original shipping cost, the return shipping cost and any charges incurred. We will refund the item price less those costs. Some customs authorities do not refund duties, taxes or fees paid on parcels that are returned.
9. Address accuracy
Please check your delivery address carefully before you pay. You can ask us to change the address until your order is dispatched. After that we cannot change it.
If a parcel is returned to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, you are responsible for the cost of sending it again.
10. Lost, delayed or damaged parcels
If your tracking has not updated for an unusual length of time, or your parcel has not arrived within the delivery estimate, contact us and we will open an investigation with the carrier. Please allow the carrier’s normal investigation time before we can confirm a parcel is lost. If the carrier confirms it is lost, we will send a replacement or refund you, at your choice, subject to availability.
If your parcel arrives damaged, email us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the item and the outer packaging. Keep all packaging until we have replied.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Packaging
We pack every order to protect it in transit. Sealed items are sent sealed. Used items are packed to the same standard and sent as described on the product page.
12. Restricted destinations and items
Some items cannot lawfully be imported into every country, and some carriers do not accept every destination. We may decline or cancel any order where an item cannot be sent to your destination, and we will refund you in full.
13. Changes and cancellations
Contact us as soon as possible if you want to change or cancel an order. We can cancel an order that has not yet been dispatched. We cannot cancel an order once it has been handed to the carrier.
14. Holidays and peak periods
Processing and delivery can be slower around Christmas, Easter and other peak periods. We will post any holiday shipping cut off dates on the site.
