Label Submissions

Scorched Earth Records is a cassette only label. We’re open to cassette releases from active bands within the underground metal scene. We don’t press CDs or vinyl ourselves, but we’re happy for bands to pursue those formats through other labels alongside a cassette release with us.

After a rough experience last time round accepting anything that came through the door, this time the bar is higher.

What we’re looking for:

  • A consistently updated presence on social media. If your last post was over a year ago, this isn’t the right fit.
  • A consistent release history. If this is your debut, the same social media activity requirement applies, we want to see you’re actually building something.
  • Finished or near finished material, mixed and mastered to a standard ready for physical release. Rough demos won’t be considered.
  • Music that fits within the underground metal spectrum. We don’t cover noise or power electronics.
  • Final decision on release fit, including commercial viability, sits with the label.

Band’s cut: bands receive 20 percent of the physical run, shipped anywhere in the world at our cost. For example, a run of 100 cassettes means 20 copies go to the band.

Exclusivity: we ask that the cassette release with us is the only cassette version of that release while our run is available. CDs and vinyl through other labels are fine.

How to submit: send links to your music along with your social media presence to [email protected]. Send us music we can listen to online. We can’t act on a submission that only arrives as a physical copy in the mail.
